10/09/06: Literature PT meeting @ Liza's place
Just came back from dinner with my mother. She told me that actually she wanted to fetch me and my sister from home after work and we'll go have curry fishhead for dinner and then go Haagen Dazs to try the Chocolate Fondue, but my sister went out already so... I ended up eating Korean food from the foodcourt at Compass Point, zzz. After dinner mummy and I got Crunchie Cones from Swensen's and we walked home together. Swensen's has ice-cream mooncakes! But they have stupid Disney cartoon characters on them, hahaha yuck. But still, I'm gonna get the ice-cream mooncakes for Mooncake Festival/ Lantern Festival/ whatever. Umm, mummy wants to go to the Food Fairafter tuition tomorrow.
Anyway when we were walking home from Compass Point, my mother bought the Lian He Zao/Wan Bao and read about the RI guy who died on Monday. Another talent gone to waste. He's all healthy but just got some stupid heart infection which took his life :( He's only 15 OK, why did he have to die? The newspaper stated that he probably got the virus during a camp he attended two weeks before his death. Shit, is this what he gets for being so active in school and all? Life's damn unfair, someone who is so promising died so young while on the other hand people like me who have no talents or whatsoever are still living.
And then The Newpaper had this article on this 13 year-old boy who recovered from cancer just recently and got knocked dead by a car yesterday or something. And I saw him on this Channel U programme which was about Dreams just yesterday at 8PM. He talked about how painful it was for him to undergo chemotherapy and that his dream was to go back to school to study or something.
Not like I know them personally or anything but I feel for them man. September is like, the death season. Steve Irwin, young promising men, September 11 anniversary. Life is so full of surprises and shocks. I never know when I'm gonna die, maybe tomorrow I'll get knocked down by a caron my way to tuition. Death season. I think I should start cherishing every single day of my life, and I ought to be glad that every weekday morning I can wake up at 5.30AM and go to school instead of trying to stay in bed for that five or ten more minutes.
Someone tell me, what is life all about?
